Winnipeg Jets

Winnipeg Jets cannot take advantage of two late 3rd period PPs and Philadelphia Flyers take it 2-1 in shootout

Recap of the game.

The league’s top power play unable to find the back of the net in a tie game twice in the final five minutes is a bit unusual given what we’ve become accustimed to seeing from both units this season. The home team had great chances in OT but again were unable to find twine. In the end Philadelphia takes it 2-1 over Winnipeg in a shootout. Jets fall to 42-14-4 on the season.

Notable:

Can tell you that Jets captain Adam Lowry was not using the word frick when telling Travis Sanheim from Elkhorn, Manitoba to not spear his goalie.

Cole ‘Prick’fetti wasn’t about to get out of his zone in order to acknowledge his 200th NHL game (last game).

The opening goal of the game came courtesy of Mark Scheifele’s 34th of the season. With 20 games remaining Scheifele is sitting with the third most goals he’s ever scored (42 in 22-23 and 38 in 18-19). He’s on pace for 45.

Lots of spinning at centre ice as Logan Stanley and Nicolas Deslauriers measured each other out. But that was the worst “fight” ever.

This (Jets have been in 1st place this season for 89 days) seems good.

Winnipeg had two late 3rd period power plays as Morgan Barron drew two with under 5 minutes to go.

The home team possessed the puck most of OT but couldn’t solve Ivan Fedotov.

The Jets fall to 1-1 in shootouts this season.
