Following a season opener win in Edmonton the players returned to the MTS Centre for some off ice training.
Mark Scheifele – Did he surprise himself last night? How does he look at a team like the Kings? Was there something important for him to get a quick start? What is the atmosphere like today? Coach Noel’s reliance on him in the 3rd. Playing more than he had previously.
Zach Bogosian – Play of Jacob Trouba. Was he shocked at how much time Trouba played? What about Trouba’s game stood out to him? Any words of wisdom before the game? What will it do for his confidence? Is there still a place for fighting in hockey? Why is that? Keeping guys honest. Thoughts on penalty for removing helmet.
Michael Frolik – Having all three lines scoring. Winning first game nice way to start off. How does it help to contribute right away? His thoughts on the place of fighting in the game? Is general feeling among players that fighting should stay despite media calls for a ban?
Bryan Little – Getting a win to start the season. Rookies contributing right away. Thoughts on fighting in the game (passes on question). Does fighting in the game keep non-fighters safer? Having three different lines scoring. Can you see the value of bringing along Scheifele slowly? How tough is it to follow up a good game?
Chris Thorburn – Does fighting still have a place in the NHL? Does he notice fighting have a different place in the game today? If game was called differently how could players police the game? Frustrating to hear a call for the end of fighting in the game?
