Winnipeg Sun: Caught on Tape – Wild’s Ryan Hartman admitted to Jets’ Cole Perfetti that high stick was on purpose. Cue the music from Law and Order as the case against Ryan Hartman is fairly airtight. Only issue is that the audio cannot be used against Hartman for disciplanry purposes as per Jeff Marek of Sportsnet.

Winnipeg Free Press: Hartman’s admission of guilt caught on tape. (Paywall). Pretty interesting morning down at Canada Life Centre today as Cole Perfetti provided some interesting background from the incident on Sunday.

TSN: ‘He knew what he was doing’: Perfetti pleased with Hartman high-sticking fine. Minnesota’s Ryan Hartman has been fined $4,427.08, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for high-sticking Cole Perfetti. The incident happened when Hartman and Perfetti lined up for faceoff during their game on Dec. 31. Hartman’s stick came up and hit Perfetti in the face. He was not penalized on the play. Perfetti spoke about the incident Tuesday, and revealed that it was intentional and Hartman even told him it was going to happen ahead of time.

Sportsnet: ‘You never want to take the passion out of our game’: Jets’ Bowness on aggression vs. Wild. Jets head coach Rick Bowness spoke about the game against the Minnesota Wild on December 31st, saying that their choice to fight right off the bat was to send a message and that he never wants to get rid of that passion from the game.

Sportsnet: ‘That’s a little old school’: Jets’ Bowness on Wild’s Hartman going eye-for-an-eye. Jets head coach Rick Bowness spoke about the Ryan Hartman high-sticking incident, agreeing that it was a little old school to go eye-for-an-eye after Kaprizov was injured, and said that had he known, it would’ve been dealt with differently.
