TSN: Does Lowry match-up change the dynamic for Matthews line in Winnipeg? When Blake Wheeler was injured in the first period against the Maple Leafs, Jets head coach Paul Maurice changed his match-ups to have Adam Lowry’s line facing up against Auston Matthews. Maurice spoke to the media about that decision and why he likes the match-up. As well, Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe talked about what the Matthews line has to do differently against a harder-checking group like Lowry’s.
TSN: ‘Wheeler’s a warrior’: Jets captain a GTD tonight after leaving early Wednesday. Blake Wheeler was on the ice at Winnipeg’s morning skate Friday after playing only the first period in Wednesday’s game against the Maple Leafs. He will be a game-time decision for tonight’s rematch on TSN. Wheeler has only missed six games since the team relocated to Winnipeg in 2011, and his teammates marveled at his pain threshold.
