Jets news:

TSN:  The Reporters: Who should – and will – win the Calder Trophy?  The Maple Leafs and the Jets are battling for playoff spots, but there’s increasing interest over who will be named Rookie of the Year. The Reporters share their thoughts on whether Auston Matthews or Patrik Laine will get the award.

Winnipeg Sun:  When Laine scores, Jets usually win.  The Jets bench boss had a good line about wanting to see him score 40 or 50 more goals.

Winnipeg Sun:  Captain Blake Wheeler driving Jets resurgence.  While there could still be a bump or two along the way the play of #26 has certainly steadied the ship for the Jets.  Ted has more in this article on the Jets captain.

San Jose Mercury News:  Three keys for San Jose.  Take a look at what the Jets opposition needs to do to take command in tonight’s contest from a beat writer that covers the Sharks.

TSN:  Jets need to remain patient against the Sharks.  (Video).  Gary Lawless and Sara Orlesky preview the Jets matchup with the Sharks, explaining that Winnipeg needs to stick to their plan and remain patient against the high-powered Sharks. They also discuss Josh Morrissey and Jacob Trouba recent play as the top d-pairing and the news of Ondrej Pavelec’s knee scope.

Sportsnet:  Maurice asked to weigh in on Laine vs. Matthews debate.  (Video).  Jets head coach Paul Maurice may be a bit biased, but when asked about Laine vs. Matthews Calder race, says it’s going to be very interesting, but he doesn’t have a vote.

Sportsnet:  Maurice’s Babcock comments a mere deflection of Jets’ real problems.  Perhaps I’m incorrect in my assessment but as I said on Saturday’s Illegal Curve Hockey show I really didn’t interpret the coach’s comments being directed at his counterpart in Toronto but more towards those behind the cameras and pens in that city.

TSN:  Statistically Speaking – Wheeler rising with high-flying Jets.  With a look at the fantasy implications the Jets captain gets top marks and the article also touches on the impact of Byfuglien and Hellebuyck.

Illegal Curve:  Jets vs. Sharks pre-game reportTake a look at what the Winnipeg projected lines and D pairs may be for tonight’s game at the MTS Centre.

Illegal Curve:  Ondrej Pavelec has scope done on knee.  Sounds like the veteran goalie will be out of the lineup for a minimum of 2-3 weeks and could be more according to the Jets bench boss.

Illegal Curve:  Morning Papers.  If you missed any of the news we have you covered.

Jets audio:

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice pre-game. Status of Ondrej Pavelec.  Can he confirm report that he is shut down for the season.  Would they look at Eric Comrie?  Did he call Trouba and Morrissey his top pairing?  Would Trouba’s role change if/when Myers returns?  What do Trouba and Morrissey do well together?  More on Pavelec.  On the Jets record when Patrik Laine scores a goal.  On the buzz when Laine scores.  How much does Blake set the tone for this group?  Importance of him down the stretch/with a young group.  Possible that Pavelec has played last game, how would he look back at Ondrej’s time?  Thoughts on the Sharks.  Status of Myers?  Timeline on Myers?  On Laine/Matthews Calder debate.  How many more times might he use Hellebuyck this season?
