Jets news:
Metro News: Jets’ playoff quest to be questioned in November. Coach Maurice has spent some time talking about the young players who don’t know any better (i.e. the usual grind of an NHL schedule) and this month that is going to be put to the test. It is a similar schedule to last November (more away than home games) and this Jets crew are looking for a better result than this time last year (4-9-1) in the eleventh month.
Winnipeg Sun: Six veterans out of the Jets’ lineup tonight. Luckily for Winnipeg they have “veterans” like Marko Dano and Andrew Copp to insert in place of the guys who will be missing.
Winnipeg Free Press: Maurice adds Dano to new Jets recipe in D.C. (Paywall). He has looked good with the Moose since he was assigned there by the Jets and it will be interesting to see if he (and Copp) can show the Jets bench boss what they need to to help secure a spot on this team for awhile.
Sportsnet: Laine meets his idol again. It will be interesting to see which of the two scores that customary power play, slap shot goal tonight.
CSN Atlantic: Will Capitals change it up for re-match with the Jets? (Video). Capitals Insider Tarik El-Bashir and Capitals correspondent J.J. Regan were live at Kettler Capitals Iceplex for Thursday’s morning skate. They took fan questions on what will be different in round two between the Caps and Jets, the different roles of the lines and what’s the deal with Lars Eller?
ESPN: The NHL Microcore Index for 2016-17. (Paywall). The Jets get a middle of the pack ranking as the weak link in this ranking appears to be goalie of the present/future Connor Hellebuyck.
