Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Missed opportunity for Jets.  (Paywall).  Home is where the heart is but apparently not where the wins are.  This homestand was supposed to be a difference maker for the Jets but they have certainly missed the boat when it came time to add points to the standings bank.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Key of Bart – He’s Got Bills. (video).  (Paywall).  Bartley Kives sets his site on Mark Chipman, Kevin Cheveldayoff and the unsigned Jets, Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd. With apologies to LunchMoney Lewis and his 2014 hit “Bills”.  As an aside I make a couple of appearances in the video which I wasn’t anticipating.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets perilously close to NHL basement.  And by close they mean TWO POINTS.  Fans who are expecting to see a top 3 pick (and based on our poll results to date quite a few of you are in that camp) are looking like your prognostication powers are more significant than the playoff folks.

Sportsnet:  What’s it like to be a rookie when: Nikolaj Ehlers.  He certainly has speed to burn as fans have found out this season.

CBC:  Weak dollar would have threatened Winnipeg’s NHL bid: Chipman.  Good news for local hockey fans that the True North ownership group bought the team when they did.

Illegal Curve:  Jets vs. Hurricanes projected lineupsTake a look at what the lines looked like after skate today and what combos you should expect to see at the MTS Centre this evening. Includes audio from Blake Wheeler, Tyler Myers and Mark Stuart.

Illegal Curve:  Morning Papers.  If you missed any of the news we have you covered.

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice pre-game scrum.  Status of Ladd?  Needing a good game tonight to start the road trip off right.  Special to coach against Carolina still? What are the keys for his team to be successful tonight? His thoughts on the team embellishment penalties?
