Minnesota Wild at Vancouver Canucks

The basics

In what was once a bitter rivalry, the late Hockey Night in Canada game features the Vancouver Canucks hosting the Minnesota Wild.

The Wild are tied for 13th in the Conference at 14-13-3 but are 7-1-1 in their last 9 games.

The Canucks are 17-14-0 and according to head Coach Alain Vigneault have yet to play their best hockey this season.

Home cooking

The Canucks have played significantly better at home this season.  Not only are they 11-4-0 at GM Place, but they also have been winning home games by an average margin of 1.53 goals, best in the NHL.

While the Canucks are the second-highest scoring team at home (3.53 goals a game), the Minnesota Wild are the second lowest scoring team on the road at 2.12 goals a game.

Saturday will be Minnesota’s final stop on a five-game road trip.  They will be playing on back-to-back nights and their third road game in four days.  The Wild have a 5-10-2 record on the road.
