Thursday Morning NHL Papers (Eastern Conference): Claude Julien calls out David Krejci, Ron Wilson wants more from Luke Schenn and Ray Emery admits tonight’s game against Senators is important to him

Atlantic Division

• Jacques Lemaire has his players rolling, as the Devils won again last night.  Patrik Elias played last night but he felt sore after the game, so his availability for tonight’s game is up in the air.  Could Scott Niedermayer finish this season with the Devils?
• The Islanders game against the Capitals was a good old fashioned goal-fest, however, the Isles came out on the losing end in a shootout.
• With Chris Drury and Brandon Dubinsky out of the Rangers lineup, Vinny Prospal shifts to center.  The aforementioned Dubinsky could be out for up to six weeks.
• “He’s doing great. He’s having lots of fun there and enjoying it, away from the media. [Philly] gets full houses without the attention we get here,” said Jason Spezza about Ray Emery’s experience in Philadelphia thus far.  Speaking of Emery, he finally admitted tonight’s game against Ottawa is important to him.  “I don’t think he has hard feelings with any of the guys there in the dressing room,” said Daniel Briere about Emery.
• Penguins fans are wondering why the team’s power play isn’t very good.  Brooks Orpik may not be able to suit up for tonight’s contest.  It is nice to sees Deryk Engelland get a chance to play in the NHL.

Northeast Division

• The Bruins have been improved on the penalty kill as of late, writes Fluto Shinzawa.  “His game certainly isn’t where it should be,” said Bruins coach Claude Julien about David Krejci.
• The Sabres won last night thanks to penalty killing and goaltending, explains John Vogl of the Buffalo News.  Meanwhile, Jim Lorentz and Joe Crozier will be joining the Sabres’ Hall of Fame.
• In an attempt to try to generate more offense, Jacques Martin has made some more changes to his forward lines.  According to Forbes, the Habs franchise is the third most valuable in the NHL.
• Ray Emery’s old teammates in Ottawa don’t appear to have any hard feelings against their former netminder.  “I think the biggest thing I’ve probably learned is how difficult it is to win, that any win is a good win, even though you may not have played as well as you possibly could have,” said Cory Clouston about what he’s learned heading into his 50th NHL game behind the bench.  Pascal Leclaire is not going to let some bad goals get to him, as he knows he has to have thick skin as a netminder.
• Damien Cox has an interesting story about the Leafs’ pursuit of Jonas Gustavsson and the man behind that pursuit.  Ron Wilson has, once again, stated that he needs more from Luke Schenn.  Brian Burke is not supportive of NHL taking part in 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

Southeast Division

• Ilya Kovalchuk will not play tonight versus the Rangers, reports Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
• “We can talk as much as we want, but it has to happen on the ice,” said Hurricanes forward Tuomo Ruutu after his team’s thirteenth straight loss.
• The Panthers are looking forward to having Radek Dvorak, Greg Campbell and Dominic Moore all back in the lineup at the same time.  Kenndal McArdle is certainly not one to give up, writes Harvey Fialkov.
• The Lightning is a heck of a lot better at this point in the season than they were last season at the same point.
