The Jets made it two wins on consecutive days, rallying from a 1-0 deficit after 40 minutes to beat the Penguins. The third period turned into a wild one, with the two teams combining for four goals in just 4:19 as Winnipeg scored three of them to take control of the game. They ended the night as the first-place team in the Central.

Notable:
Hearing the name Carlile on the Jets/Pens broadcast in a Pittsburgh jersey brought back memories of the early ’80s, when it would have been this guy. Of course, different spelling, but his nine seasons in Winnipeg are the real reason the name brings back memories.
It was a fun opening period in Pittsburgh which saw the Jets and Penguins tied 0-0 after 20. Home team got off to a fast start with an 8-2 shot edge but visitors finished strong with a 10-3 run.
This was what I was thinking in the 2nd period “Don’t know how many folks were thinking this Jets and Pens game would be a goalie duel but both Stevenson and Murashov have been very good.”
With his team down 1-0 in the 3rd, head coach Scott Arniel went to the blender for three of his four lines. It was Rosén with Lowry and Iafallo. Barron with Björck and Vilardi. Lambert with Namestnikov and Koepke. And the top line remains unchanged for the Jets.
And it worked to spark the team. Alex Iafallo scored a 5 on 5 goal to tie the game. Shortly thereafter, his line again got another with him driving the net before the captain Adam Lowry put home a rebound into the empty net to make it 2-1 for the visitors.
After the Pens tied the game, again shortly thereafter, the Jets regained the lead for good just nine seconds after they tied it with Josh Morrissey jumping into the attack before feeding a perfect pass to Cole Perfetti who wired it home to give Winnipeg a 3-2 lead.
In total the two teams combined for four goals in 4:19. Quite the sequence.
Nice first game in net for new Jets goalie Clay ‘Mud’ Stevenson as the big Albertan had a .938 save% making 30 saves on 32 shots.
And Winnipeg ends the night as the 1st place team in the Central.
