Notable:

Mark Scheifele is playing in his 750th game as a member of the Winnipeg Jets this evening. He’s still 124 games shy of being in top spot on the Jets 2.0 list currently held by Blake Wheeler. And he’s exactly 200 games away from tying Thomas Steen who played 950 for Jets 1.0.

Also Josh Morrissey tied Dustin Byfuglien for games played in a Winnipeg Jets jersey tnt with game 528. That puts them sixth on the Jets 2.0 all-time games played list. He’s third for Jets D all-time. 1st is Randy Carlyle with 564, 2nd is Teppo Numminen with 547.

Winnipeg did not start on time as San Jose had a 12-1 shot edge and they eventually took a 1-0 lead. It was Justin Bailey who got it for the home team. It was his first NHL goal since March 10th, 2018.

The Jets flipped the script in the second half of the opening period to tie the game and somehow evening the shots at 15-15 after 20 minutes. More importantly Brenden Dillon scored against his former club to give him his fifth goal of the season (which is one off his career high).

Winnipeg started the middle frame with a 5-0 shot edge after they ended the opening period on a 14-3 run. That’s a lot of shots.

There wasn’t any scoring in the 2nd period but it was an entertaining period.

The power play for Winnipeg stunk as they went 0/5 while San Jose was able to score late in the game on the man advantage and that would prove to be the difference in this contest.

Multi Point Game:

None.
