Eastern Conference Final – Penguins/Flyers Morning Papers
- Darian Hatcher, among other Flyers, are using these five days off to recover from injuries. It’s amazing how these guys get so beat up during the playoffs and manage to play night after night. Phil Sheridan compares Hatchers return to Terrell Owens playing in the Super Bowl…and then some.
- The Flyers have alot of respect for Sidney Crosby (the most obvious statement of the day). Defensively, they are preparing by giving player assignments. Defenseman Kimmo Timmonen and forward Jeff Carter will defend against Evegni Malkin. Mike Richards and Darian Hatcher will defend against Sidney Crosby.
- After playing each other 8 times in the regular season, the Flyers and Peguins should have a tough series. Pittsburgh will throw out George Laraque, Brooks Orpik and Jarkko Ruutu, while Philly will possibly counter with, Riley Cote and Steve Downie. Hey, it could happen.
- In off the ice news: In a process that has seemed to drag on forever, the Penguins have approved the final design over their new arena.
