Central Division

- Mathieu Garon has earned himself another start in Columbus. Mike Commodore has been a healthy scratch in Columbus due to conditioning issues.
- Mike Babcock was really happy with the play of the line of Leino–Zetterberg–Cleary last night. The line was good, but make no mistake, Henrik Zetterberg was the star. Nicklas Lidstrom hasn’t been performing at his normal levels, but he isn’t too concerned.
- The Predators eclipsed their season high shot total by the end of the second period last night against the Habs. The shots weren’t concentrated either.
- The Blues actually outplayed the Sharks last night, but as has been the story this season, the team couldn’t score. Carlo Colaiacovo returned to the lineup last night.
Northwest Division
- Jarome Iginla was dominant and he got some help from the team’s secondary scorers, as the Flames defeated the Leafs 5-2 on HNIC. Did you know David Moss and Phil Kessel are first cousins?
- “They had a team that was desperate at the end of a long road trip, and we just weren’t ready at the start,” said Adam Foote after his team was dominated on Saturday night by Vancouver. - The Canucks ended their road trip in style last night, with an 8-2 over Colorado.
Pacific Division
- “We can’t play against them (with) that trading-chances game,” said Ducks netminder Jonas Hiller about his team’s play against Detroit.
- Mike Heika gives Stars fans an update on former coach Dave Tippett and how he’s enjoying coaching in the desert.
- The Kings did not have a hangover from their 7-0 loss to Atlanta and defeated Tampa Bay 2-1 in a shootout.
- Dave Tippett got sweet payback against the Stars last night with a 3-2 victory.
- Only good teams win games like the Sharks did last night. The Sharks’ power play is markedly better on the road than at home.
