After six years in Winnipeg former Jets associate coach Jamie Kompon is heading to Florida but is isn’t to retire in Del Boca Vista Phase III. He is joining Paul Maurice’s staff on the Panthers according to Andy Strickland who is a Blues rinkside reporter for Bally Sports Midwest but is pretty tied in across the NHL. Strickland reported today:
Longtime #NHL assistant Jamie Kompon is officially joining Paul Maurice’s staff in Florida.
The Jets decided to clean house with their coaching staff at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season.
Kompon has won the Stanley Cup as an assistant on the benches in L.A. and in Chicago.
Folks at EliteProspects have him listed as an assistant coach for Florida.
