Elliotte Friedman joined Ron MacLean for Saturday Headlines where the insider was asked about a Heritage Classic coming back to Canada. Friedman indicated there is going to be one next year and that the whispers from out west is that “Winnipeg is going to be a serious contender to host it”.
This would be the second time the Jets host the Heritage Classic (vs Oilers) since 2016 and the third one they take part in after they participated in one back in 2019 against the Flames in Regina.
The Jets are 1-1 in them having lost the one here 3-0 to the Oilers and having won the one in Saskatchewan by a final score of 2-1.
Who would you like to see Winnipeg play host to? Have to think Vancouver would complete the Western trifecta. Plus so many good alumni battles from the early 90s between them. Let us know here.
