Rules set by the NHL regarding taxi squad; impact on the Winnipeg Jets

Check out the rules regarding the taxi squad for the upcoming NHL season.

One new thing we will see for the 2020-21 season is a 4-6 man taxi squad for NHL teams to help them avoid situations where they would be short manned due to the pandemic.  The folks at CapFriendly posted this:

Most interesting to note that the Jets are required to carry three goalies which likely means Eric Comrie won’t have to worry about going on another odyssey like he did last season.

I’m of the opinion that the Jets shouldn’t keep prospects (i.e. Vesalainen, Gustafsson, etc) on the taxi squad as they will be better off playing actual games with the Moose.  We spoke about this quite a bit during the tird segment of Saturday’s Illegal Curve Hockey Show which you can listen to here.

Time for some Wednesday night hockey in Winnipeg.

Reminder: The game isn't being televised so you'll either have to be there or watch via the Jets website.

While there won't be an Illegal Curve Post-Game Show tnt they are coming soon. Subscribe here: https://m.youtube.com/user/illegalcurveradio
