From Tom Reed of the Columbus Dispatch:
One player who knows a lot about Tyutin is R.J. Umberger. The two players have been Atlantic Division rivals for three seasons with Umberger playing in Philadelphia. Umberger was in town over the weekend. Here’s Umberger’s take:
“(Tyutin) probably doesn’t get as much hype as he should. He’s young and he’s going to get better. He has a tremendous skill package and I don’t think it’s fully developed yet. He’s a fluid skater and he can make the first pass out of the zone.”

Reed points out that the Blue Jackets could end up using Tyutin on the point for the power play and that he could see more time on the PP than he did in NY. To be honest, if Tyutin was a capable PP quarterback, he would have been given that gig with the Rangers who weren’t exactly loaded with offense talent on the back-end. He should slot in as a solid defender who is capable of making a nice breakout pass; essentially a number three NHL defenseman.
