Winnipeg Jets sign RFA Andrew Copp to a one-year contract

Andrew Copp is coming off a career year for the Jets and today Elliotte Freidman of Sportsnet announced the Jets have come to terms with the restricted free agent on a one year contract at 3.64 million. The team has now confirmed the deal and terms.

This deal will allow Copp to walk to free agency although the team can still try to extend him after January 1st.

Earlier today Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet had a good article about what the team could do with Copp with a short-term and long-term view.

Only one of the Jets RFAs remains on the board which is 6’5 right shot Dman Johnny Kovacevic who I would anticipate will be signed by the club soon enough.
