Report: Manitoba Moose sign CJ Suess to a two-year contract

Who says you can’t go home again?

Almost a year ago CJ Suess, who was drafted by the Jets in the 5th round back in 2014, signed a one-year NHL contract with the San Jose Sharks.

He had spent the previous four seasons in the Winnipeg organization playing primarily with the Moose although he did get into four NHL games including his NHL debut which, coincidentally, came in San Jose against the Sharks back on November 1st, 2019.

He played one game in the NHL with San Jose but for the most part spent the 2022-23 season with the Barracuda scoring 10 goals and adding 12 assists for 22 points in 46 games with their AHL affiliate.

According to his agency, 02K Sports Management, the Minnesota product has agreed to a two-year AHL deal with the Manitoba Moose. In 166 games for Manitoba he had 45 goals and 38 assists for 83 points.

Suess will bring a good veteran presence to what is likely to be a younger group of forwards.

The team has yet to confirm the deal.
