Reaction from the Room: Sabres 2 Jets 1

The Jets drop their second game in a row as the Buffalo Sabres pick up the 2-1 win. Winnipeg falls to 32-27-5 on the season and remain in a wildcard spot for now.

Notable:

Josh Morrissey took the warm up skate but was held out of the game with an upper-body injury.

In the 1st period the line blender got going as Jansen Harkins moved up to the top line with Scheifele and Wheeler as Nikolaj Ehlers dropped to the 3rd line with Cody Eakin and Jack Roslovic while Mason Appleton joined the 4th with Shore/Bourque.

It was the eighth straight game the Jets gave up the opening goal of the game.

The Jets didn’t have a shot in the final nine minutes of the 3rd period in a game they trailed by one.

Jets coach Paul Maurice on Josh Morrissey “We didn’t come to the rink expecting that.  It was truly last minute….he felt fine coming to the rink and didn’t feel fine after warm-up.  So we don’t take those chances.”  More on his status here.
