Penalty troubles prove costly as Blues defeat Jets 2-1 to extend Winnipeg’s winless skid to three games (0-2-1)

It was the Joel Hofer show as the Winnipeg-born netminder for the Blues backstopped his team to a 2-1 win.

Notable:

Cole Perfetti continues his torrid pace scoring his sixth goal of the season in his ninth game. Last season it came in game 40. One silver lining is the Jets saved themselves a boatload on his long-term contract extension. Also worthy of note was the pass by Gabriel Vilardi which was right on his tape.

While some of the penalty calls were marginal, the Jets didn’t learn their lesson taking their fifth minor of the game approaching the midpoint of the final frame and the Blues took a 2-1 lead as a result.

Both goalies were excellent in this game.

Nine games now without a 5-on-5 point from the second line.

Winnipeg slide now hits three games (0-2-1) as they lose to another Central Division team to fall to 4-3-2 on the season.

Multi Point Game:

None.
