What team beat writers are saying early this afternoon:

  • Thrashers forward Colby Armstrong will be wearing a microphone on the ice for tonight’s tilt with Boston.  Good way to keep fan attention.
  • All members of the NHLPA will vote within 60 days whether to terminate the current CBA or not.  I don’t think there is any chance they terminate the CBA.  The consequences of such a move would be crippling for the NHL.
  • Brenden Morrow is out until May but he still wants to hang out with his teammates.  Good leader.
  • Dave Staples reviews last night’s game for Oilers fans and says they now know how San Jose felt on Saturday night.  Staples continues to be one of the best-reads out there.
  • Tomas Vokoun gets the start tonight for the Panthers versus Calgary.  The Flames should be thankful that they are missing Craig Anderson because he’s been on absolute fire.
  • Mike Green needs to pass a strength test and then he’ll be cleared to return to the line-up tonight.  The Capitals are finally getting healthy so watch out.
