On the Beat: Hemsky called out, Zherdev promoted and Hiller to start versus Sens

What team beat-writers are saying this afternoon:

• Jonas Hiller gets the start tonight for the Ducks at Ottawa.  Giguere is slated to start tomorrow in Montreal.
• Matt Greene loves L.A.  Considering his ice-time and new contract, he should definitely like playing in Southern California.
• Nikolai Zherdev has replaced Scott Gomez on the Rangers’ number one line.  Gomez slotted on the third line? Don’t get that.
• The jersey the Wings will wear for the 2009 Winter Classic will be unveiled tomorrow during the Wings’ television broadcast. Fans generally love new jerseys.
• Ales Hemsky was called out by Ray Ferraro during last night’s TSN broadcast.  Hemky can certainly pick up his game.
• Joe Thornton is going to suit up tonight for the Panthers.  I’m sure the Sharks will be cautious with this injury.
