On the Beat and Some Afternoon News

What team beat writers are saying this afternoon:

  • Brett Sutter will be skating in his NHL debut using some of his old equipment from the Red Deer Rebels.  See, getting luggage to its proper location effects hockey players too.
  • John Madden is in tonight for the Devils.  He has missed the past couple games with the flu.
  • Daniel Alfredsson will suit up for the Sens tonight in Philadelphia even though he has a sore shoulder.  If every player on Ottawa played as hard as Alffy, this team wouldn’t be as bad as it is.
  • Here are the Blues lines for tonight’s tilt versus Detroit.  Let’s see how the team responds to Andy Murray’s criticism.
  • Marek Svatos won’t suit up tonight for Colorado.  Not overly surprising.

What team bloggers are saying this afternoon:

  • It doesn’t look like Chris Osgood will be hitting the IR, after the veteran felt good this morning.  He’ll get a couple days off coming up.
  • Five deep thoughts on the Predators from The Forechecker.  Doug Weight to the rescue?  He’s certainly better than what they have, but they may get some competition for his services from Columbus.
