On the Beat and Afternoon Delight

On the beat:

• Peter Budaj will get the start tonight for Dallas.  The Stars are streaking so the Avs better watch out.
• Possible Columbus targets?  Chris Kelly is a Hitchcock-esque player.
• Dave Staples talks up Dennis Grebeshkov.  He’ll need to take on a bigger role with Visnovsky injured.
• Both David Booth and Tomas Vokoun will be in the Panthers lineup tonight.  Arguably the two of the three most important players for the Cats.
• Georges Laraque will return to the Habs lineup on Friday.  Price to start in goal tomorrow too.
• The Senators lines from practice today.  Not exactly the most imposing second line in the business.
• Viktor Kozlov is out tonight for the Capitals.  Enough offense on that team so you don’t have to worry.

Afternoon Delight:

• EJ Hradek wonders if the Bruins can win the Cup?  They certainly can win the Cup.
• Stan Fischler with the Fischler Report.  Great read.
• Chris Botta thinks the Islanders will trade Mike Comrie by the deadline.  Agreed.
• The KHL isn’t doing so hot.  Surprise, surprise.
• Should the NHL return to all wooden sticks?  I’ve been saying this for a while now–ban the one piece sticks!
