• Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe gives readers his opinions on a bunch of questions surrounding the Bruins heading into the season.  Marc Savard rumors continue to swirl and I can’t say I completely understand them.  Savard is a terrific offensive player and I just don’t see the Bruins trading him and giving Bergeron all that responsibility when he is coming off a very serious concussion.
  • Niclas Wallin (concussion) is hoping to get back into game action over the weekend.  I don’t think the concussion will cost Wallin his starting position on the back-end.
  • The Islanders have signed rookie Josh Bailey to an NHL contract. Still it doesn’t appear he will stay on with the big club for long.
  • The Lightning has waived Andrew Hutchinson. The team had too many defensemen who just played better than Hutchinson at camp.
