Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe gives readers his opinions on a bunch of questions surrounding the Bruins heading into the season. Marc Savard rumors continue to swirl and I can’t say I completely understand them. Savard is a terrific offensive player and I just don’t see the Bruins trading him and giving Bergeron all that responsibility when he is coming off a very serious concussion.
Niclas Wallin (concussion) is hoping to get back into game action over the weekend. I don’t think the concussion will cost Wallin his starting position on the back-end.
The Islanders have signed rookie Josh Bailey to an NHL contract. Still it doesn’t appear he will stay on with the big club for long.
The Lightning has waived Andrew Hutchinson. The team had too many defensemen who just played better than Hutchinson at camp.
