Numbers Game

Today, I decided to look at the representation of countries among the Top 20 scoring leaders in the NHL since the 2000-2001 season. It should come as no surprise, given that Canadians represent the highest proportion of nationalities in the NHL, that Canada has consistently had the most players in the top 20. While Canada has averaged just over 38% of players in the top 20, Russia is a distant second with an average of 13.33%. The Czech Republic, Sweden and USA round out the list of the teams that have averages over 10% (2 or more players). Finland, Germany, Austria, and Ukraine have had a combined 9 players in the top 20 since 2000.
