With the Jets prospects set to skate before departing for Quebec and this weekend’s Prospect Challenge, the club’s veterans were first on the ice at Hockey For All Centre on Friday morning.
Veterans’ group
Before the Jets prospects take the ice, a group of veterans is skating at Hockey For All Centre.
Jets captain Adam Lowry has joined the main group for the first time this week after skating separately earlier in the week, while Nino Niederreiter is making his first appearance at the informal skates.
Fifteen skaters are on the ice: Noah Gregor, Cole Perfetti, Nino Niederreiter, Adam Lowry, Isak Rosén, Alex Iafallo, Vlad Namestnikov, Kyle Connor, Josh Morrissey, Mark Scheifele, Dylan Samberg, Neal Pionk, Dylan DeMelo, Cole Koepke and Mario Ferraro.
Gabriel Vilardi, Morgan Barron, Brad Lambert, Nikita Chibrikov weren’t skating. Connor Hellebuyck remains absent from the informal skates.
As per Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press defenceman Elias Salomonsson was skating on his own after the main group had concluded.
There was a later skate where we saw a number of players taking part including Haydn Fleury, Tyrel Bauer, Isaak Phillips, Parker Ford, Henry Thrun, Jack St. Ivany.
Prospects’ group
The prospects and camp invitees were also working on some pre-training-camp power-play looks ahead of their departure for the Prospect Challenge in Quebec.
