There were two groups on the ice at Hockey For All Centre today, beginning with a collection of Jets prospects and players ahead of the main informal skate.
Early group
Kieron Walton, Kevin He, Lukas Gustafsson, Lucas Wahlin, Davis Burnside, Dysin Mayo and Henry Thrun were among those taking part in the earlier session. The three goalies on the ice were Thomas Milic, Isaac Poulter and Alex Worthington.
The presence of Thrun was notable as it was our first time seeing the free-agent addition on the ice since players began gathering in Winnipeg.
Coincidentally, on the heels of that skate ending, the Jets announced their roster for the 2026 Prospect Challenge, which will feature teams from Winnipeg, Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa in Gatineau, Quebec this weekend.
Main group
Before the main skate began, Jets goalie coach Wade Flaherty spent some time chatting with Stuart Skinner. With Skinner getting settled into his new surroundings and Connor Hellebuyck still not present following his trade request, it offered another glimpse at the beginning of a new era in the Winnipeg crease.
It was a smaller group for today’s main informal skate, with Mark Scheifele, Adam Lowry, Josh Morrissey, Nino Niederreiter, Neal Pionk and Kyle Connor among those not taking part. According to Danielle Bain of TSN, Scheifele is currently in Las Vegas for the NHL Player Media Tour.
It was also the third straight day that Jets captain Adam Lowry did not skate with the main group, although there has been no indication that his absence is injury-related. Given the informal nature of these skates and Lowry’s comments yesterday about entering camp healthy, there is no reason to read too much into his absence at this stage.
One new face with the main group was forward Noah Gregor, who was on the ice for the first time since signing with Winnipeg this summer.
Notable absences
Elias Salomonsson and Walker Duehr were not on the ice with either group today. Salomonsson participated in the previous two informal skates while wearing a yellow non-contact jersey, including joining the main group on Tuesday. Duehr, who is not officially listed as injured, skated yesterday with Moose skills coach Dave Cameron on the same sheet of ice as Salomonsson.

Nothing is officially scheduled for tomorrow, but we will hear from the Jets prospects on Friday before they leave for the 2026 Prospect Challenge in Gatineau. They are scheduled to skate at Hockey For All Centre beginning at 9:15 AM.
