Not looking good for the Winnipeg Jets to be the Wild opponent in 2021 Winter Classic

While there was hope that the Jets would be the opponent on the day it was announced that the Wild would host the 2021 Winter Classic at Target Field it was reported by John Shannon that the Blues were the front runners.

It is too bad as you have to think the Jets would make for a very good opponent in terms of rivalry and traveling fan base. Ratings maybe not so much.

Of the 23 outdoor games to take place in the United States (12 Winter Classic or 11 Stadium Series) only three have involved a Canadian opponent (Toronto x 2 and Montreal).
