- Guess who’s back, back again. Looks like Dan Cloutier, after a year out of hockey, will be trying out with the Red Wings this season.
- It appears that this story has been on again, off again and on again, as the see saw relationship between the Oilers and formerly favored son, Mike Comrie continues and a contract still hasn’t been signed.
- Predators fans should rejoice because it appears that Barry Trotz has a plan to help out the lackluster Nashville powerplay.
Eastern Conference:
- Despite my thought to the contrary yesterday, it appears now that Alfie thinks the Senators would be better off if Heatley takes the show on the road.
- Has Claude Julien identified the Bruins biggest weakness and if so, does he know how to rectify same?
- The Penguins continue the Pittsburgh tradition of visiting the White House as they are scheduled to see President Obama on Thursday.
Phoenix Situation:
- It appears that Ice Edge holdings feels they have the strongest submission in the fight to purchse the Phoenix Coyotes.
- Looks like Judge Baum, to nobody’s surprise, has hinted that the Coyotes are likely to stay in Phoenix, at least for next season.
General NHL:
- Shawn Horcoff says that the NHLPA needed to make changes. Wonder if he heard J.R.’s take on this entire affair.
- Looks like hockey players better get used to flying coach like the rest of us as transportation officials in both Canada and the U.S. have banned charter airlines carrying sports teams from making multiple stops.
- Looks like hockey great Serge Savard has had success in more than just the hockey arena. In addition to all his Stanley Cups, he is involved in harness racing.
- Is women’s hockey too polite to hit? I can’t see why it would be? They play with the same rules as the men, so why not allow them to hit?
