More on the Jason Krog signing

From Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province:

Then again, Krog can play the wing, kill penalties and win faceoffs. He won 60.4 per cent of them with the Anaheim Ducks in the 2002-03 season.

“I can’t worry about those things,” Krog said of roster uncertainty. “It’s out of my control. All I can worry about is coming in good shape and trying to prove myself. I’ll focus on making Vancouver and see what happens.”

What’s happening with the Krog signing is twofold. General manager Mike Gillis is giving another player a chance to rekindle his NHL game in a new locale. And it helps from a depth perspective with Manitoba Moose centres Brad Moran and Colby Genoway opting for contracts in Europe next season and Brendan Morrison and Markus Naslund lost to free agency.
