The Moose conclude a six-game homestand with a pair of games this weekend against the Wolves. They won both games last week against Chicago and came into today having a 2-0-1 record against their bitter rival.
Lineup news:
No changes for the Moose who came into the game having won seven of eight games.
Moose lineup:
Barlow – Zhilkin – JAD
Lambert – Yager – Fagemo
Di Giuseppe – Ford – Chibrikov
Shaw – Gustafsson – Duehr
Heinola – Clague
Phillips – Bauer
Sautner – Frisch
DiVincentiis
Notable:
Kale Clague opened the scoring in today’s game with this roof shot. Isaak Phillips hits him with a great stretch pass after Clague came out of the penalty box. That’s his fourth goal of the season.
Nikita Chibrikov took a hard hit in the 1st. A penalty was called on the play. He would complete the game.
Jets prospect Danny Zhilkin was flying this afternoon for the Moose. Not sure I can recall seeing a player hit both posts and the crossbar with one shot but that’s just what Zhilkin did seconds after that flying sequence.
Some physicality from Tyrel Bauer who lays this open ice hit.
With the score tied 1-1 the Moose continued to press early in the 3rd. First it was Walker Duehr with the steal but he hits the post and that was followed by prospect Nikita Chibrikov getting a glorious chance of his own but an incredible save was made.
After not burying chance after chance after chance after chance the Wolves took a 2-1 lead over the Moose early in the 3rd.
Jets goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis with a big stop to keep his team within one.
Moose could not get the puck deep into the Wolves end and get stuck in the neutral zone. The visitors pushed back into their end and add some insurance late in the 3rd.
Manitoba gave up an empty netter to fall 4-1 to Chicago. That’s the first regulation loss for the home team to the visitors in four games this season (2-1-1).
