The Moose rolled into Milwaukee this evening riding a two-game win streak and aiming to extend it against a tough Central Division rival that only had one regulation loss coming into this game.
Lineup news:
Only two changes for Manitoba as Reece Vitelli in for Fabian Wagner and in net Domenic DiVincentiis got the pipes from Thomas Milic.
Moose lineup:
Fagemo – Yager – Di Giuseppe
Barlow – Zhilkin – JAD
Shaw – Gustafsson – Duehr
Empey – Conley –Wagner
Heinola – Clague
Phillips – Salomonsson
Sautner – Anhorn
Milic
Notable:
Kevin Conley opened the scoring for Manitoba. Put himself in right spot to receive this pass from Ashton Sautner who activated off the blueline. Tyson Empey also causing problems in front. He got an assist. Nice work by JAD to steal the puck and keep the momentum in the Moose favour.
This Brayden Yager kid is pretty good with his passing. The Jets prospect now has six assists on the season which gave the Moose a 2-0 first period lead as Phil Di Giuseppe gets his fourth of the season on the PP.
Moose fired a lot of shots at the Admirals in the 1st period. They outshot Milwaukee 17-4 which might be most lopsided period in some time for the AHL club of Manitoba. Only 3 of the 18 skaters for the Moose didn’t get a shot in the opening frame.
Big stop by Jets goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis as the Admirals make a push in the 3rd period.
File this one away in strange goals that counted but maybe shouldn’t have: You can hear Domenic DiVincentiis yell to the ref about his mask, removes the mask and they score on him with him wearing no mask. Not sure I can recall seeing a goal like that count.
Walker Duehr from long range sealed the deal with his fourth goal of the season into the empty net.
Moose are going streaking as the AHL club of Manitoba wins their third straight game on this road trip defeating the Admirals 3-1 (handing them just second regulation loss). Manitoba at 6-6-2 back in the mix in the Central Division.
