The Moose kicked off 2022 with a 2-1 win over these same Wild two days ago despite some chaos surrounding their goalies.
Lineup news:
Netminder Mikhail Berdin was still unavailable for the Moose so it was a second straight start for Evan Cormier while he was backed up by Bisons goalie Jeremy Link who was signed to a PTO. Also forward Thomas Caron is now in Covid protocol.
Moose lineup:
Malott-Maier-Poganski
Eyssimont-Meireles-Burgess

Noteworthy:
Moose came out on fire outshooting the Wild 7-1 to start the game but couldn’t seem to solve Iowa goalie Trevin Kozlowski.
Eventually they would as Jeff Malott scored on the power play with assists to a pair of Jets 2019 draft picks (1st rounder Ville Heinola and 2nd rounder Simon Lundmark).
Jets 2017 3rd rounder Johnny Kovacevic scored his sixth goal of the season which tied the game for the Moose in the 3rd period as they had outshot the Wild 9-0 to that point.
Defenceman Leon Gawanke (Jets 2017 5th rounder) was crunched into the boards by Manitoban Cody McLeod and he looked a bit worse for wear after the hit.
Buzzing throughout the game for the Moose were Mikey Eyssimont, Haralds Egle and Isaac Johnson.
Manitoba is now 16-9-1-1 on the season which puts them 2nd in the Central.
