By now you’ve likely seen the knee-on-knee injury sustained by Jets winger Kyle Connor in the 4-2 win by his club on Sunday night in Anaheim when Ryan Strome stuck out his leg and left the speedy Michigan product in a heap on the ice.
#NHLJets forward Kyle Connor had to be helped off of the ice after this knee-on-knee hit from Ryan Strome.

We learned courtesy of Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press that there would be no supplemental discipline to Strome for the hit as the NHL felt it was reckless not intentional. While a suspension to Strome won’t undo the damage done to Connor it may have sent a message to NHL players that being reckless has consequences.
This afternoon we get more information via Mike McIntyre who tweeted out this ahead of morning skate in San Jose.
Kyle Connor’s knee injury is hopefully a 6-8 week recovery timeline. However, there’s still some further evaluation pending which could alter that.
Will get official update from Rick Bowness in about an hour following AM skate.
Head coach Rick Bowness comments were as follows after morning skate:
“Kyle is heading back to Winnipeg. He’ll be reevaluated by our doctors tonight when he gets in and we’ll go from there. As of now he’s not playing tonight or tomorrow and we’ll know more tonight once our doctors have a chance to examine him themselves.”
Asked if there was a timeline
“Not until we hear from our doctors”.
Which means we will likely get a further update on Friday once Jets resume practice.
