Manitoba Moose sign Jimmy Oligny to a one-year AHL deal

The Moose are potentially going to have a number of young prospect defencemen on the roster next season including 2017 2nd round pick Dylan Samberg and 2018 5th round pick Declan Chisholm but they will still need to sprinkle in some veterans amongst the kids which was illustrated with today’s announcement that the team has signed 27-year-old defenceman Jimmy Oligny to a one-year AHL deal.

Oligny was acquired by the Moose back in 2018-19 in a trade the Jets made with the Golden Knights bringing him to Manitoba for future considerations.  Those future considerations ended up being forward Tye McGinn who went to the Chicago Wolves.

In 85 games with the Moose over the course of the last two seasons Oligny has six goals and 20 assists.
