Manitoba Moose sign Evgeny Svechnikov to a one-year contract for the 2021-22 season

Lots of focus on 2015 1st rounder Evgeny Svechnikov, who reportedly signed a PTO with the Jets (according to Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet) and now we learn that he has signed a one-year deal with the Moose for next season.

For those wondering why he would sign a AHL contract with the Moose, a PTO with the Jets doesn’t guarantee him a contract for next season while this deal in the AHL will give him that security.  But as Ken points out he will still have an opportunity to earn a contract with the Jets.

Ken also added the salary for Svechnikov with Manitoba will be $215,000.
