Manitoba Moose return to AHL pre-season action with a pair against Wild

It’s been almost seven years since the AHL club has played a pre-season game.

It may not seem like a big deal, since most folks grumble at the idea of pre-season hockey, but for the Manitoba Moose, the last six seasons have included no AHL pre-season games at all. The closest they’ve come is exhibition contests against the University of Manitoba Bisons.

In my opinion, that put the team at a slight disadvantage to start the season, since they don’t get any games against similar levels of competition.

That changes this year as the team has announced it will play two games against the Iowa Wild on September 25 and 26.

The Moose season gets underway on October 3rd when they host the Chicago Wolves.
