The six-game homestand continues in Manitoba with the second game against rival Chicago who the Moose will face five times (including last game) in seven games which should mean these two teams will not like each other much when all is said and done in Illinois on December 3rd.
Lineup news:
With Thomas Milic up with the Jets, the organization has Winnipegger Isaac Poulter back up from the ECHL. He backed up prospect Domenic DiVincentiis for this afternoon’s game.
Moose lineup:
Di Giuseppe – Yager – Fagemo
Barlow – Zhilkin – JAD
Chibrikov – Ford – Lambert
Shaw – Gustafsson – Duehr
Heinola – Clague
Phillips – Salomonsson
Sautner – Frisch
DiVincentiis
Notable:
Jets prospect Colby Barlow (2023 1st) opened the scoring for the Moose. That’s his second of the season. Nice pass by JAD and fellow prospect Danny Zhilkin (2022 3rd).
David Gustafsson got his fourth goal of the season early in the 2nd to make it a 2-0 game for the Moose. Nice work by Manitoba captain Mason Shaw to get him that puck and good pressure by Walker Duehr to force the turnover.
Just over two minutes after they increased their lead, the Moose are now up 3-0 as Walker Duehr takes the dump out by Elias Salomonsson and scores his team leading sixth goal of the season shorthanded. It’s Manitoba’s fifth SH goal of the 2025-26 campaign.
Wolves got one back as these two teams have combined for three goals in four minutes in the middle frame. These two clubs scored a combined three goals in 60 minutes two days ago.
Walker Duehr had two breakaways in the second period but he goes for a shot and it was stopped. The Moose drew a penalty and went on the power play shortly thereafter.
While it’s not ideal to give up an odd man rush on the power play, coach will like this effort to get back by Jets prospect Colby Barlow (2023 1st) who got the legs going and kills the play.
Moose didn’t sit on the lead as they kept pushing to add to their lead as was evidenced by their 50th breakaway (slight exaggeration) of the game that came in the 3rd period. Nice pass to himself by Samuel Fagemo who then makes an even nicer pass to Phil Di Giuseppe.
Jets goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis keeps his team ahead with this big stop in the 3rd.
A fortunate bounce as the save was made but the rebound hits Elias Salomonsson and ends up in the back of the Moose net.
No call as Walker Duehr got hauled down with the net empty. Could have been awarded a goal but refs allowed play to continue.
For the first time in a while the Moose have themselves a six-game win streak as they defeat the Wolves 3-2. Still have a ways to go before they match nine game win streak of 2017-18 team but it’s an impressive run by Manitoba.
They improve to 9-6-2-0 which puts them back into a tie with the Admirals for second most points in the Central.
