The Moose had a quick skate this morning as the group looked to close out the remaining two games of their six-game homestand with some critical points on the line.

After a good start there was a little too much chaos in front of the Moose net and the Marlies took a 1-0 lead.
Moose had a chance to tie the game on the power play as the Finns connected but just couldn’t get it to go.
Tyrel Bauer welcomes Tate Singleton to the pros with this tilt.
It was a big opening period for Singleton who got his first AHL goal and his first AHL fight. He’s an assist away from the Gordie Howe.
The identity line struck for the Moose in the middle frame to tie the game 1-1. Jeffrey Viel gets his 14th of the season which set a new career high for him for points with 32.
Not a lot of shots in the 2nd period (5-4 for Toronto) but plenty of chatter to conclude the middle frame.
Manitoba came out hot in the 3rd leading to a 9-1 shot edge as they threw everything they had at Toronto goalie Dennis Hildeby and this chance with 2:52 left in the period. In total they held a 15-3 shot advantage in the final frame but couldn’t find the back of the net which meant OT was needed.
And in extra time the Marlies used that conserved energy to push hard into the Moose end and the game ended with former Manitoba centre Logan Shaw finding the net behind Thomas Milic who made stop after stop after stop but the fourth one beat him.
With the single point Manitoba is now five back of Texas for the 4th playoff spot in the Central. They also caught a break as Rockford tied Chicago with one second to go in the 3rd and then won in a shootout which meant the Wolves didn’t gain any ground on the Moose.
