Manitoba Moose Practice Report

Latest from practice on the AHL club of Manitoba.

The Moose took Monday after winning both games they played this weekend which saw them defeat the IceHogs 4-1 on Saturday and then 2-1 on Sunday. It meant they finished their season series with Rockford with a 5-2-0 record.

Manitoba sits 3rd in the Central sitting five back of Chicago in 2nd (with a game in hand) but also with a hard-charging Texas team that is actually hotter than they are. The Moose have won three straight (and five of six) while the Stars are actually winners of five straight games. They sit three points back of the Moose although they’ve played three more games. These two teams will face off in Cedar Park, Tx.

Biggest question mark is the health of Walker Duehr who has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury.

Skate news:

All were present and accounted for at practice except for Walker Duehr. He did an IR skate earlier. The coaching staff worked the group quite hard at the end of today’s skate.

Not sure if Jets goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis has been seeing the upsurge in goalie fights but he was taking some tips from Moose pugilist Tyson Empey after practice.

Projected lines & D pairs:

Shaw – Gustafsson- Chibrikov
Lambert – Ford – Di Giuseppe
Julien– Yager – JAD
Barlow – Zhilkin – Fagemo
Empey – Wagner

Heinola – Barteaux
Anhorn– Clague
Sautner – Bauer

Health Update:

As per head coach Mark Morrison they will have Walker Duehr on the trip with them. He remains listed as day-to-day. He did say he heard “he felt good” during his IR skate earlier in the day.

Up next:

Tomorrow the Moose will travel to Texas where they will start a two-game set against the Stars on Friday.
