Manitoba Moose Playoff Practice Report

Manitoba hits the ice for a second straight day of practice as they continue to prepare for the first game of their first round series against Milwaukee which gets underway on Wednesday.

Yesterday,  David Gustafsson wasn’t skating which isn’t a surprise given this play midway through the 2nd period although he did play the rest of the game.

He has arrived:

Jets prospect Kevin He (2024 4th) has joined the Moose although his status is uncertain as an injury cost him the final game of his OHL playoffs. He was put through the paces by skills coach Dave Cameron. Not sure the nature of the injury which cost him the final game of the playoffs for Flint but he was moving around quite well and shooting ahead of Moose practice.

Reassigned:

With Norfolk out of the ECHL playoffs the Moose have added Winnipegger Isaac Poulter to their goalie mix. He joined the club on the ice this morning for practice.

Practice notes:

After skipping skate yesterday there was some good news for the Moose as the Gus Bus (David Gustafsson) was back on the ice with his teammates for today’s skate. As mentioned above given the nature of the hit that happened on Saturday in Iowa (even though he finished the game) it seemed like it could have been much worse.

A new face was at Moose practice today as Jets prospect Garrett Brown (2022 4th) took part in his first ever playoff practice as a pro. The big, right shot defenceman is coming off winning a National Championship with Denver University.

Health Update:

In terms of Kevin He, head coach Mark Morrison advised that he “felt good on the ice” and that he will skate again tomorrow. Regarding Kieron Walton, who is with the team but rehabbing, we were advised he’s still “a week away from going on the ice”. Last up was Davis Burnside who suffered a high-ankle sprain and will be out 6-8 weeks.

We will be giving away a few tickets to the upcoming playoff games so stay tuned for that and if you’d like the friends and family deal check out this offer here.
