The Christmas break couldn’t come fast enough for the Manitoba Moose who are a banged up squad and even lost a player or two in today’s afternoon game against the Rampage. Following the game I asked coach Vincent for an update on some of his injured players.
Sami Niku:
Last played November 27th. Sustained an upper-body injury in a game in Milwaukee. Coach Vincent advised on December 6th that the mobile Dman would be out two to four weeks.
“He skated this morning again. He’s feeling better and better. So we hope when we come from the break going through a practice or two, full contact that he should be fine.”
Kristian Vesalainen:
Vesalainen left today’s game in the 1st period, came back, left in the 2nd and didn’t return for the 3rd period.
“I don’t. It’s a lower-body injury. We don’t know how long, I’m not sure.”
Luke Green:
He hasn’t played since a game against the IceHogs in Rockford back on December 3rd.
“Week to week”. It is an upper-body injury for the defenceman.
Ryan White:
He hasn’t played since he tried to lay a big hit in a game against Grand Rapids back on November 2nd.
“He should be close to coming back next week when we come back from the break.”
