Manitoba Moose fail to build momentum from last game as IceHogs take it 3-2

Recap of the game.

The Moose got back on track last game in Milwaukee on Wednesday morning as they defeated a very good Admirals team with both their special teams being very good. They were looking for just their second two-game win streak of the season and the first since the first weekend of the season.

Lineup news:

Recently re-claimed goalie Kappo Kahkonen was backing up. Jets prospect Brad Lambert back in the lineup after missing the last game with an illness. This was the second straight start for Milic.

Lines & D pairs:

Suess-Toninato-Ford
JAD-Lambert-Chibrikov
Shaw-King-AJF
Liwiski-Nikkanen-Empey

Lundmark – Salomonsson
Anhorn – Barteaux
Kuzmin – Bauer

Milic

Notable:

An early penalty and Thomas Milic was up to the task as he did what he had to do to keep the puck out of the net. However Manitoba took another penalty to put themselves down 5 on 3 and Hawks 1st rounder Frank Nazar put a puck in off Elias Salomonsson to open the scoring.

During that same penalty it was Seattle Thunderbird vs Seattle Thunderbird as Kevin Korchinski got a breakaway against Thomas Milic but the Moose netminder made the stop.

More from Thomas Milic who kept making nice stops in order to keep his team close.

Which was good news for his team as Tyson Empey tied the game for the Moose off a nice pass by Mark Liwiski.

Little bit of deception from Jets prospect Elias Salomonsson on the power play for the Moose.

Early in the 3rd Tyson Empey with a little batting practice put the Moose up 2-1 with his second goal of the game. Goal was reviewed but called a good goal after it.

After the Moose failed to clear the puck the IceHogs tied the game with nine minutes gone in the final frame.

Four minutes after tying the game the IceHogs took a 3-2 lead as the 3rd period wound down. Entire sequence wasn’t great by Manitoba.

Moose pushed for the tie but couldn’t beat Mitchell Weeks and ultimately fall to Rockford. With the loss they are now 4-8-0-0 on the season.

The big dogs for the Moose were very quiet in this game.
