Manitoba Moose earn series split with Stars thanks to pair from Alex Limoges

Recap of the Moose game.

The Moose practiced on Saturday as they looked to leave behind the poor effort that saw them lose 4-1 on Friday to Texas. They were hoping to earn a split with the Stars this afternoon.

Lineup news:

With Alex Limoges returning from injury the Moose sat Greg Meireles. They also chose to keep the D pairs mixed as they had done in the last game. Additionally on the backend Tyrel Bauer came in for Dean Stewart. Lastly, Oskari Salminen got the start.

Moose lineup:

Limoges-Lucius-Eyssimont
Polei-Maier-Jones
Malott-Stenlund-Reichel
Bongiovanni-Nikkanen-Torgersson

Heinola Gawanke
Chisholm Lundmark
Sautner Bauer

Salminen
Holm

Notable:

Alex Limoges picked a good day to score his first and second goals as a member of the Manitoba Moose as he opened the scoring and then finished it in OT to secure the win for the home side.

One word describes Mikey Eyssimont: Tenacious. OT winner facilitated by that trait he displays so often on the ice.

Another solid effort from Moose goalie Oskari Salminen who made 32 saves on 33 shots this afternoon. He also came on in relief on Friday and made 17 saves on 18 shots so he had a busy weekend. He improves to 4-1-0-1 on the season with a 1.93 GAA and a .928 save%.

The win improved Manitoba to 6-2-1 on the season which is good enough for 2nd spot in the Central, one point back of Milwaukee.
