The Moose picked up a record setting victory last night which punched their ticket to the playoffs as Jaret Anderson-Dolan scored the fastest goal in Manitoba history which kicked off a 4-0 start by the home team which the visitors whittled down to 4-3 before Thomas Milic shut the door and earned his club a massive two points. Couple that with a Stars loss and the Central was getting a little more interesting.
Heading into tonight’s game it looked like this:
3. Stars 74 (5 GR)
4. Moose 70 (6 GR)
5. Admirals 65 (6 GR)
Of course with all these teams in action the question was how would it look by the end of the night?
Lineup news:
Another pro debut as former Ohio State captain Davis Burnside played in his first game in antlers.
Moose lineup:
Shaw-Ford-Duehr
JAD-Zhilkin-Di Giuseppe
Burnside-Yoder-Chibrikov
Barlow-Yager-Fagemo
Phillips-Clague
Sautner-Barteaux
Anhorn-Freij
Milic
Notable:
Not much to write about this one as the Moose got outscored 7-0, outshot 30-16, gave up a shorthanded goal (turned out to be the game-winner) as well as two power play goals.
The loss is costly not just because Milwaukee is now just three points back with five games to go but because Texas also lost this evening which meant had Manitoba won they’d be sitting just two points back of the Stars with a game in hand and that’s their next opponent here in Winnipeg.
Multi-point game:
None
