Manitoba Moose adding former Penguins prospect and three others on one-year AHL deal

Four more players added to the mix.

The Moose are adding some more Friar to the mix as they have inked former Providence captain Chase Yoder to an AHL deal. The Texas product was a teammate of current Jets/Moose forward Parker Ford for three years in the NCAA.

He spent a few seasons in the USHL before moving on to the NCAA with Providence where he’s spent the past five seasons. The 5’11 left shooting forward was selected by the Penguins in the 6th round of the 2020 NHL Draft but Pittsburgh didn’t sign him. As a result he was free to sign with anyone and has inked an AHL deal with the Moose. While Ford was undrafted he too signed an AHL deal with Manitoba before earning an NHL deal with Winnipeg.

This year he was the winner of the Mal Brown Award which is “given annually to the male senior or graduate student-athlete whose career of intercollegiate competition portrayed sportsmanship, courage and honor”. Here was the video package they put out:

In addition to Yoder they’ve also added Kevin Conley, Graham Sward and Ethan Frisch on one-year AHL deals.

Ethan Frisch is a right-shot defenceman from Minnesota who played at UND and has spent the last two full seasons with the Sharks AHL club.

Kevin Conley (34 games) and Graham Sward (2 games) both spent time with the Moose last season.
