The Winnipeg Jets played a thrilling game Tuesday night against the Washington Capitals ultimately losing 5-4 in a shootout. Fans at the MTS Centre, Jets fans at home watching TSN Jets on Bell and MTS television providers were able to watch the game uninterrupted. However, customers of Shaw Cable suffered a blackout just as the game was set to head to overtime. This is any fans worst nightmare.
I first reported this on twitter at 9:52pm
Hearing Shaw is having problems with TSN Jets during overtime.

.@ShawInfo currently having problems with TSN Jets during overtime. The TSN Jets feed appears to be working fine on MTS and Bell. — M Remis (@mremis) October 23, 2013
Luckily, fans in the dark could tune into TSN 1290 Winnipeg on their radios, computers, tablets and smartphones via the webpage and the TSN app for Android and iPhone OS. By 9:58 the problem had been solved
Hearing TSN Jets is working again for @ShawInfo – they should thank the Jets for not scoring during the technical difficulty.

I can only imagine what the backlash would have been if the Jets had scored during the outage. TSN Jets costs $9.99 per month and only has a few per week, for a game to go dark at any point, let alone in overtime during the most entertaining game of the year is simply unacceptable.
Many Jets fans took to twitter to voice their opinion, here is a sample.
@Shawhelp nice time to lose signal to tsn Jets, start of ot.

@Shawhelp so I’ll be expecting a refund for TSN Jets

Shaw with the 3min #TSN Jets blackout!
— Ron Cantiveros (@RonCantiveros) October 23, 2013
Hahahahaha #TSN Jets goes out in OT. #mylife

Shaw’s official twitter accounts @ShawInfo and @ShawHelp tweeted nothing about the issue.
Hopefully for Shaw customers this wasn’t some cruel joke by a Jimmy Kimmel enthusiast.
If you were watching TSN Jets during overtime of last night’s game, post about your experience in the comments.
